BEACH TO BAY 2012 RACE RESULTS
The 2012 edition of the Beach to Bay Marathon Relay is now history. This year proved to be another fun-filled weekend in Corpus Christi with a full slate of activities over portions of three days. The Houston Striders were represented in the relay by five outstanding teams. As usual, the results bear this out.
The teams were comprised of some Beach to Bay seasoned veterans who just keep coming back year after year. However, we also welcome some “first-timers”. A very vital part of each of the teams is the behind the scenes supporters who help get runners to and from the various exchange points. Thanks to all who contributed.
Following are the details of each team and the finish times and places for each:

I am sure that a number of our Beach to Bay contingent will want to share their stories from this year’s event either by adding a comment to this posting or through a separate posting.
And I hope to see you at next year’s Beach to Bay Relay Marathon which will be held on Armed Forces Day, May 18, 2013.

Hi Guys
It has been far too long since I posted any results (work has been interupting far too much) but there were some fantastic Strider results at the Boston Marathon last weekend which deserve immediate publication. It must have been brutal out there, the winning time would only have earned 13th place last year and at least one of our members spent the night in hospital recovering from hydration issues.
I hope I haven’t missed any results for this, (if I have then please let me know.)

Hi Striders – please accept a huge appology for the poor tracking of race results over the last year – the last few months in particular. When Spring Break is done and my visitors have left I plan on doing a huge trawl for results on the web so if you have done any out of state or small and maybe off-the-radar races in the past few months then please shoot me an email so your result won’t be missed. Regards Janet – janet@stevemat.com

I hope you are enjoying this (mostly) wonderful running weather and are staying dry! (What a nice thing to be able to type) (But then I wasn’t racing yesterday morning!)
It has been a while since I’ve posted any results and there a quite a few to update. As usual please (and I really mean this) send me any information you have on errors and omissions, it might seem really early to be thinking about the Christmas party but these results I post are used to work out who will win awards for the top and most improved runners of the year so don’t miss out just because you thought I wouldn’t want to know how inefficient I am!
These results should include any races Striders may have run in since August 27th, plus a few out of town races or other races I missed for one reason or another.
Hope your legs and lungs are feeling great.
Janet - janet@stevemat.com
(For the Komen race there were so many results, only available 100 at a time so I’m sorry to admit that I just searched through the top 100 men and top 100 women, if your result isn’t included then I hope you had a great race and if it was a great result for you then please let me know …..)
(For the Cross Country Relay the only results I found just had team names so if the name had Strider in it I assumed it was one of ours!)
(If your name is in itallics then you might not realise that your membership recently expired …. )

It has been a VERY long time since I last sent out any race results. There are so many to publish that I have decided to work backwards and for now will just be publishing the results so far for June. At some point in the not too distant future I’m hoping to be able to put all the results I collate up on the website (so I don’t overload your email inbox with lots of data that you might not be very interested in.)
So here are the results I have found so far for June (and one for the end of May). I use a vlookup function in XL to pick up result so if your name has been misspelled then I won’t have picked up your data. If I have missed your result or even an entire race that you ran in these please let me know as we do use this data later in the year to award prizes.
Don’t melt out there in the heat.
Janet (please email any corrections to me at janet@stevemat.com )
